When you call in for our service:

If you need to call us, here are a few tips to ensure that you receive the best possible service from Yorkton Towing:

  • Know exactly where you are. Look for an address, a name of a building, a street corner nearest to you, or a landmark. Note the direction of travel and even which side of an intersection you are on. This information makes it much easier for us to find you.
  • Give our dispatcher a good description of the vehicle, including year, make, model and license plate number.
  • Try to give the dispatcher a good idea of the problem. If we know what's wrong, we can send the right truck and equipment.
  • Give the dispatcher the phone number you are calling, so we can call you back if, for any reason, we can't find you.
  • Calling a tow truck is usually an unexpected expense, and you may not have enough cash. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and your bank card. If no credit card or bank card is available, the repair shop to which we are towing your vehicle may pay the tow bill for you because they have your car for repair, and add it to their bill. Our drivers will help you find the best way to ensure that you get the service you need.
  • Please understand that if the weather is cold or bad, we may be running behind. We will get to you as quickly as possible, but it may not always be as quickly as you would like. In that case, you may wish to call your local service station or dealership.
  • If you should get your car going before we arrive, or you get help from someone else, please call in to cancel. One of the frustrations of our business is taking the time, fuel and energy to look for someone who is no longer there.

Some words of advice about boosting:
  • If you have a newer car, read the owner's manual. In some cases it's not recommended that you boost the car due to the computer and other electronics in the car. If you do, make sure you have the right terminals.
  • Connect positive (+) to positive (+) and negative (-) to negative (-).
  • Be sure you turn the key off in the dead car, and also turn off any
  • other power sources. Allow a minute to charge and then try it.
  • Once the spin of the starter begins to die again, rest the starter and continue to recharge a few minutes. If you are not successful, have it towed or professionally boosted.
  • We advise you use care and caution if you are doing your own boosting.

Some words of advice about towing:
  • Do not attempt to pull your vehicle home with a rope or chain. The transmission wont take it, and you won't have any control of the immobilized vehicle's steering or braking, not to mention visibility.
  • Improper towing may be illegal, and you may not be covered by insurance if your car is not in operating condition. That's why towing companies such as ours carry $1 million liability insurance, to cover your vehicle while in tow.
